Water Mitigation Plan
An "Emergency Mitigation Plan" was completed using the IICRC (Institute for Inspection Cleaning & Restoration Certification) industry standards of professional-grade equipment for water extraction, dehumidification, and air movement. These standards determine the type and amount of equipment required to successfully mitigate the water damage. Upon completion of the necessary legal paperwork, and approval of the residence owners, work began under emergency conditions.
The Insurance Adjuster
STOP Restoration is trained in working with the Insurance industries and supporting the ever-changing rules and regulations. STOP will work with both the residence owners and the insurance adjusters to ensure the work is done safely, professionally, and cost-effectively. The insurance adjuster will typically issue the settlement check to the residence owners for the mitigation costs of workmanship and equipment usage. Upon completion of the water mitigation STOP Restoration was paid for services rendered. STOP Restoration can also provide a list of local contractors to assist in rebuilding and/or replacement of the damaged materials.
The Monitoring Progress:
After the removal of the commodes and flooring in both the bathrooms and the setup of our previously mentioned equipment, the monitoring of our progress began. We took daily readings of the temperature, humidity, and moisture content of the bathrooms and documented this accordingly. We had to install a vapor barrier (professional-grade plastic) on the second-floor bathroom doorway as the dehumidifier was pulling negative air pressure from under the hung door from the house, slowing the drying process. After two days of drying, the second-floor bathroom moisture readings were within professional standards, and therefore we removed our equipment. The first-floor bathroom took another day to meet moisture standards, and again we removed our equipment. We applied an FDA-approved "green botanical" plant-based anti-microbial agent to ensure no mold or other pathogens could propagate.
The Completion:
The residence owners are very pleased with the work STOP Restoration Charlotte North completed. We received 10 out of 10 in all categories of our customer satisfaction survey. We wish the residence owner all the best and a very heartfelt "Thank You" for calling STOP Restoration Charlotte North.
