Not long ago we had a customer in Lexington who suffered a frozen pipe in an attic. Water poured down through the attic floor, down through the ceiling and settled on her gorgeous hardwood floors that covered the entire first floor of the home. Her insurance agent suggested she contact us to help clean things up and prevent any further damage to the structure.
She called our office and explained what happened. We mobilized a crew and were able to be to her home less than 60 minutes after she called. We discussed what she had observed about where the water came from, how much water had gotten down to the floor and made sure she felt comfortable with everything we needed to do to prevent further damage to the home and start the drying process.
We wanted to make sure to dry the area quickly to prevent mold growth and we know that the longer wood stays wet, the more likely it is to warp badly and require replacement. We set up a dehumidifier, containment and a thermal air mover to dry the area as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In about four days all areas were dry including the hard wood floors and all of the hardwoods laid back down just like they had before they were flooded. If your hardwood floors are flooded in Lexington, Winston-Salem, Thomasville or High Point we are just a phone call away and can work with any insurance carrier in the state. We’re available 24 hours a day at 336-829-5345.
